Sera Lake was formed in 1950 after a landslide in the Derecik Valley of Akçaabat, where large rocks fell from the slopes and blocked the Sera River. The lake was declared a nature park in 2010. Situated close to both the city center of Trabzon and Akçaabat, the lake attracts attention not only for its easy accessibility but also for its unique scenery.
