According to the statement made by the association, TÜRSAB continues its cooperation with local governments without interruption. In this context, TÜRSAB President Firuz B. Bağlıkaya and the accompanying delegation visited Edirne on 8-9 July.
While the TÜRSAB Edirne Liaison and Control Center was inaugurated within the framework of the visit, TÜRSAB President Bağlıkaya and Edirne Mayor Recep Gürkan signed a cooperation protocol to contribute to the promotion of Edirne and to carry out joint studies.
The TÜRSAB delegation, which participated in the 662nd Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling and Festival, also made various contacts in Edirne.
The opening ceremony of the TÜRSAB Edirne Liaison and Control Center was attended by Firuz B Bağlıkaya, Chairman of the Board of Directors on behalf of TÜRSAB, and the TÜRSAB delegation and representatives of travel agencies.
Edirne Mayor Recep Gürkan, Edirne Deputy Mayor Selçuk Çakır, Greek Edirne Consul Aris Radiopoulos, Edirne Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Kemal Soytürk also took part in the opening ceremony.
Edirne Mayor Recep Gürkan, whose views are included in the statement, stated that they are trying to make Edirne a tourism city with its components such as history, culture, nature and gastronomy and that they have set a target for this difficult journey since 2014.
"We have always been by your side in this successful journey of Edirne"
TÜRSAB Chairman of the Board of Directors Bağlıkaya pointed out the deep-rooted history and natural beauties of Edirne and said:
"Edirne is a city that has internalized the importance and value of tourism with its managers, tourism professionals and people and has taken important steps in this regard in recent years. As TÜRSAB, we have always been and will continue to be by your side in this successful journey of Edirne.
Edirne, which is one of our rare cities that has experienced the pride of being a capital city in our history, has a wide range of products with its natural beauties, ruins and gastronomy, as well as many important and cultural heritages, especially the Selimiye Mosque, the masterpiece of Mimar Sinan."
Stating that the TÜRSAB Liaison and Inspection Center is located in the region that is the heart of Edirne tourism, Bağlıkaya said, "I wholeheartedly believe that our liaison and inspection center will have an important function in providing more qualified and supervised tourism services in Edirne.
In this way, travel agencies in the region will be able to get better and closer service, and our inspection mechanism will be strengthened in terms of preventing illegal tours."
TÜRSAB Thrace Regional Representative Board Chairman Egemen Aydın said, "TÜRSAB suits Edirne very well. I hope we will serve Edirne very well for many years."
