The Kartalkaya ski resort in Bolu and the Kartepe ski resort in Kocaeli, both significant winter tourism destinations in Turkey, have completed their preparations ahead of the New Year.
At the Kartalkaya Ski Resort, located at the summit of the Köroğlu Mountains and 35 kilometers away from the city center of Bolu, the snow depth has approached one meter due to intermittent precipitation and artificial snowfall over the past two days.
The ski resort, which opened for the new season on December 15, offers skiing and snowboarding opportunities on 25 slopes with a total length of 75 kilometers.
In the region, which has completed preparations for the New Year, reservations at the 5 hotels with a total capacity of 2,000 beds have reached 80%. It is expected that the hotel occupancy rate will reach full capacity by New Year's Eve.
Yusuf Avcı, the general manager of two hotels at the ski resort in Kartalkaya, stated to AA news agency that the season opened a week ago, all slopes are open, and a beautiful atmosphere has been created in Kartalkaya.
Avcı mentioned that they have prepared special programs for New Year's Eve and noted that the ski resort is preferred by holidaymakers due to its location, snow quality, and the activities it offers.
The Kartepe Ski Resort, located at the summit of Samanlı Mountains with a view of Sapanca Lake and İzmit Gulf, just 1.5 hours away from Istanbul, has reached a 90% occupancy rate and will host local and international guests for New Year's.
