Börtlüce Cave is aimed to be open to tourism

Work has been initiated to open the Börtlüce Cave, which is located in the "Kula Salihli UNESCO Geopark" area in the Kula district of Manisa, to tourism in the region.

The cave, located near the rural Börtlüce District, was explored by the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA) teams, and its map and structure were revealed.

It was determined that the cave, which was determined to be approximately 27 meters high and 575 meters long with its side branches, has the feature of being a fossil and geological heritage.

Geopark Municipalities Union expert Mesul Kolbüken told Anadolu Agency that the cave is ready to serve tourism and science, and that the teams of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism are examining the cave.

Noting that the cave is one of the natural beauties of the region, Kolbüken said, "We are planning a walking track in the cave and aiming to promote the natural environment. At the end of this process, we will ensure that the citizens living in the region benefit from tourism income by providing rural development."
